Back ground for Vaccination

Stay healthy and protected throughout the year with comprehensive vaccination services at our pharmacy. Our pharmacists are trained to provide a range of vaccines tailored to your health needs and the current CDC guidelines.

We offer various vaccines to protect you and your loved ones from serious illnesses.

Influence Vaccine

The flu is a contagious respiratory illness that can lead to severe complications, including pneumonia.

  • Annual Protection: Everyone ages 6 months and older should receive an updated flu vaccine every season.
  • Optimal Timing: September and October are the best times to get vaccinated before the virus begins to spread.
  • Trivalent Formulation: For the 2025-2026 season, all flu vaccines are formulated to protect against three main flu viruses.

Staying up-to-date with your COVID-19 vaccination is the most effective way to prevent severe illness and hospitalization.

  • Recommended for All: The CDC recommends an updated vaccine for everyone 6 months and older.
  • Ongoing Protection: Periodic updates are necessary as the virus evolves and original protection wanes over time.

Shingles vaccine

Shingles is a painful, blistering rash caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus.

  • High Efficacy: The two-dose Shingrix series is over 90% effective at preventing shingles and long-term nerve pain.
  • Who Needs It: Healthy adults aged 50 and older and immunocompromised adults aged 19 and older should be vaccinated.
  • Dosing Schedule: Two doses are required, typically separated by 2 to 6 months.

Tetanus, also known as "lockjaw," is a serious infection caused by bacteria found in soil and dust.

  • Booster Frequency: Adults need a Tdap or Td booster shot every 10 years to maintain protection.
  • Maternal Health: Pregnant individuals should receive a Tdap dose during each pregnancy to protect their newborns.

RSV vaccine

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) Vaccine

RSV is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms but can be serious, especially for infants and older adults.

  • Protecting Seniors: The CDC recommends a single dose of the RSV vaccine for all adults aged 75 and older, and for adults aged 60–74 who are at increased risk for severe RSV.
  • Maternal Protection: To protect newborns, an RSV vaccine is recommended for pregnant individuals during weeks 32 through 36 of pregnancy.
  • Seasonal Timing: For best protection, it is ideal to get vaccinated in late summer or early fall before RSV begins to spread in the community.

Pneumococcal (Pneumonia) Vaccine

Pneumococcal disease can cause serious infections of the lungs (pneumonia), blood, and the lining of the brain and spinal cord (meningitis).

  • Who Should Get It: Vaccination is highly recommended for adults 65 years or older, as well as adults 19–64 with certain underlying medical conditions or risk factors (like asthma, diabetes, or smoking).
  • Updated Options: There are several types of pneumonia vaccines (PCV15, PCV20, and PPSV23). Our pharmacists can review your records to determine which specific vaccine you need based on the latest CDC guidelines.
  • Long-lasting Protection: Unlike the flu shot, you typically do not need a pneumonia vaccine every year. Many adults may only need a single dose or a short series for long-term protection.
